Managed Services Overview

Technology Operations. Consulting Governance |

Ongoing management of database, cloud, security, and platform environments — delivered under the architecture standards, governance frameworks, and operational controls defined by senior practitioners.

Standards Definition

SME‑led

Architecture, security, and operational frameworks are authored and governed by experienced subject matter experts — not inherited from generic templates or reactive support practices.

Governance Gaps

Zero

Every engagement begins with clearly documented standards, controls, and operating models — ensuring structure and clarity before operational execution begins.

Not Reactive

Proactive

Continuous optimization, performance reviews, and forward capacity planning are embedded into the model — structured to prevent incidents rather than simply respond to them.

The Gigamatics Difference

How Managed Services at Gigamatics Are Different.

Most managed services are either tool-focused outsourcing or headcount substitution. Neither model
delivers the governance, standards, or senior oversight that complex enterprise environments actually require.

Service Areas

Four Domains. One Governance Standard.

Each managed service area operates under architecture standards and governance frameworks defined by
senior practitioners — ensuring consistent quality, security posture, and operational discipline
across all environments we manage.

01

Managed Database Services

Architecture-governed database administration, monitoring, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL environments. We manage your database estate under defined performance standards, change control processes, and availability frameworks — not just ticketed support.

  • Performance monitoring & capacity governance
  • Backup, recovery & DR orchestration
  • Patching under defined change control
  • Query performance optimization
  • HA/RAC configuration management
  • Proactive health assessments & reporting

02

Managed Cloud Operations

Ongoing governance and operational management of your cloud environments — AWS, Azure, and GCP — under a structured framework that covers cost controls, configuration standards, security posture, and continuous optimization aligned to your workload requirements.

  • Cloud cost governance & FinOps oversight
  • Configuration & drift management
  • Infrastructure-as-code standards enforcement
  • Platform availability & incident management
  • Security posture monitoring
  • Monthly optimization reviews

03

Managed Security Operations

Security architecture standards are defined by practitioners with direct compliance and threat modelling experience. Execution follows structured processes covering access governance, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring — keeping your posture aligned to defined controls, not just operational baseline.

  • Access governance & IAM policy management
  • Vulnerability assessment & remediation tracking
  • Compliance posture monitoring (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI)
  • Security incident response coordination
  • Patch governance across managed estate
  • Periodic architecture reviews

04

Platform Reliability & SRE

SLO-governed reliability operations for Kubernetes environments, microservice platforms, and critical production infrastructure. We define the observability standards, runbooks, and reliability targets — then manage to them, with structured reporting on trends, incidents, and forward capacity planning.

  • SLO definition & reliability governance
  • Kubernetes cluster management & operations
  • Observability stack management (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • On-call coordination & incident response
  • Capacity planning & performance trending
  • Post-incident review & RCA governance

Onboarding Model

Structured Onboarding. No Shortcuts.

Every managed services engagement begins with proper governance definition not a tool installation and a dashboard login. We invest the upfront effort to understand your environment, define the standards we’ll operate against, and establish the frameworks that govern ongoing delivery.

Onboarding FAQs

How long does onboarding take?
Typically 2–4 weeks depending on environment complexity. We don’t compress this phase — proper governance definition takes the time it takes.
What if we have existing documentation?
Existing runbooks and architecture docs are reviewed and incorporated. We assess gaps and bring documentation to the standard our governance model requires.
Who owns the governance documentation?
You do. All governance frameworks, runbooks, and operational standards we produce are your intellectual property and remain with you.
What do periodic reviews include?
Monthly: operational metrics and incident review. Quarterly: architecture alignment, optimization opportunities, and roadmap inputs. Annual: full governance framework review.
What happens if we decide to transition away?
All governance frameworks, runbooks, configuration standards, and documentation remain with you. If required, we support a structured transition to your internal team or another provider — ensuring continuity and no operational disruption.
How is accountability structured?
Each engagement operates under a defined governance model with a single accountable lead. Escalation paths, decision rights, and review forums are documented upfront — ensuring clarity on ownership across operational and architectural decisions.

From Consulting to Operations

The natural extension of consulting engagement.

Many Gigamatics clients transition from a consulting engagement directly into managed services — and this is by design. When we architect a platform, define the standards, and govern the implementation, we carry the operational knowledge needed to manage what we’ve built.

Our consulting-governed model ensures operations follow the same standards we define during advisory engagements. There is no knowledge transfer gap, no architectural misalignment, and no operational drift from defined standards.

“Architecture standards and governance frameworks are defined by subject matter experts. Day-to-day execution is delivered through experienced practitioners under structured oversight — ensuring operations remain aligned to what was designed.”

01

Define the Blueprint

Architecture formalized. Standards codified. Environment fully mapped.

02

Implement with Governance

Execution aligned to defined architecture, controls, and design intent.

03

Establish Operational Control

Runbooks authored. Oversight frameworks activated. Standards embedded into daily operations.

04

Operate & Continuously Optimize

Ongoing management under defined governance — measured, reviewed, and systematically improved.
